Langold: Parents hold superhero party to raise funds and put cheer back into community after school fire
Sarah Pridmore and Michelle Kirby held a superhero-themed party at Langold Village Hall on Friday, November 13- just two days after a blaze was sparked in the school’s kitchen.
Though nobody was harmed in the fire, which was attended by nine fire crews from across three counties, the school has since remained closed. Cleaning, repairs and an investigation into the incident is now taking place.

Michelle said: “Langold is a close community and often pulls together- so this is a time when people are again, really pulling together.
“Some parents have offered childcare services, another parent has set up a Go Fund Me page to raise funds and everyone is really helping each other out. The support we had on the day was amazing.”
Food at the event was provided by Worksop snack bar Fresh To Go, along with local branches of Morrisons and Tesco’s. There was also a tombola and raffle with prizes donated from Worksop businesses.
