“Paul’s a good captain, he was brilliant with me. I lost two games, one on Thursday and one on Saturday. He just kept saying to me, you would have won any other point.”
On day one the Worksop duo teamed up in the fourball match, playing together for the first time in their careers, but they were beaten by Anders Hansen and Francesco Molinari at the final hole.
They were paired again for Friday’s fourball against the same opponents, but this time won 5&3, going nine under par over 15 holes.

Having been rested in the morning, Foster was back in action in the afternoon partnering Ross Fisher, but lost out to Thomas Bjorn and Hansen, 3&2.
World number two Westwood and David Horsey partnered to victory over Jacquelin and Nicolas Colsaerts by 4&3.
The result looked a foregone conclusion going into the final day’s singles with GB&I leading 11.5 to 6.5, but the Continent of Europe won the first five matches, including Westwood’s battle with Bjorn.
