A kitchen and utility room were damaged by fire started by a faulty freezer in Heckington.

A fire crew from Sleaford was called out to the property on Windmill Drive yesterday (Thursday) just before 5.30pm.

As well as the fire damage, the rest of the house suffered smoke damage from the incident, according to a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service report.

The crew, in breathing apparatus, put out the flames using hoses, aided by a thermal imaging camera.

No-one is said to have been injured.
