A quarter of drivers caught in one hour of speed checks on one road in Sleaford could have been fined or prosecuted
PCSOs spent some time with their speed gun on London Road today (Monday) doing speed checks and providing education to speeding drivers.
They reported later: “After an hour on London Road we saw around 60 vehicles that we checked with the speed gun. Of these, about 25 per cent were of a speed when ordinarily enforcement action would have been taken.”

The team said on their social media post: “One example was a driver spoken to who was exceeding the speed limit. They already had nine points on their licence and could have lost their licence today along with their livelihood.
“We will be around town in the coming weeks undertaking further speed checks, so please ensure you are aware of the speed limits around you.”
The team later carried out speed checks in Billinghay during the afternoon. They said seven vehicles were recorded over the speed limit and again appealed to drivers to slow down.
