TEN YEARS AGO: Lesson in business for Burgh pupils

Aspiring entrepreneurs in Burgh le Marsh were rewarded with a special assembly 10 years ago for completing a Young Enterprise course.

Year Four and Five pupils from St Peter and St Paul’s Primary School were guided through a series of tasks and activities relating to the development and importance of business.
The ‘Our Nation’ programme, led by PCSO Jayne Richardson of the Spilsby, Wainfleet and Burgh le Marsh neighbourhood policing team, taught the pupils about the importance of supply chains, deadlines, and how companies communicate with suppliers and customers.
As part of their final session, the youngsters designed a carton for a fruit juice product with time pressures set to match the reality of the business world.
