Around £8,000 of shop vouchers will support businesses in Mablethorpe, Sutton and Trusthorpe

But, as local restrictions mean that those events will not be running, the CCC looked at alternative ways to invest in our local economy and try to spread a little festive cheer.

A CCC spokesman said: “Shopping locally means that more of the money spent on goods and services will stay within the local economy.

“To encourage people to support local businesses, we are investing the funds that we would have contributed to local Christmas events and circulating £8,000 worth of £5 vouchers, through schools and a variety of community organisations, that can be spent in participating local businesses.”

The vouchers can be spent between December 2 and January 10.
